10 years of the Folk dance festival at Morimont → join the volunteer team!
Every year, the Labo M association organizes (among others) the Folk Festival at Morimont.
The Folk Festival at Morimont is a “small” traditional music and dance festival which offers participants the opportunity to experience simple moments of sharing in a simply magnificent place. Music and dance are the basis of the event but the magic created brings much more than just a ball.
The first took place in 2014 (already!). This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the festival ! :) To mark the occasion, we decided to organize two festivals instead of one , one week apart:
- First weekend: October 4 to 6
- Second weekend: October 11 to 13
Twice as much party with an almost similar program over two consecutive weekends in order to welcome more people. Let's explain: since several years, through crazy word of mouth, the festival is sold out, and very quickly. Our walls are not extendable, however, and the cocoon atmosphere of the Morimont is well suited to the current gauge which we neither want nor can increase. Hence organizing two weekends!

We are looking for volunteers! 
To prepare the venue and welcome the 250 festival-goers, a team of around thirty volunteers per festival join international volunteers and the festival organizing team: on the program, manufacturing of wooden equipment (dry toilets, outdoor showers, shelters, etc.), creation and installation of signage, decoration of rooms and stage, installation of different spaces, and any project that fits into the spirit and theme of childhood !
The spirit of volunteering at Folk au Morimont goes further than a service provided in return for the free festival: the volunteers leave their mark on the festival and infuse it with the very special spirit that reigns there.

For those who have never volunteered at Folk au Morimont, we ask them to come on site for a few days (for the 1st we need people in advance from Monday, and for the 2nd from Thursday and for the dismantling until Tuesday). A volunteer evening is organized every Thursday before the festivals! Yes yes it's a party!
You will be housed (the volunteer dormitory will welcome you before, during and after the festival) and well fed throughout your stay here. We have a good day preparing for the festival, without pressure however and in a good mood! During the festival, you will be able to participate in the dances for free and we ask for approximately four hours of permanence at the various positions of the festival, adjustable according to your preferences.
