2014-2024 -> ten years of action, it's time to party!

Hello everyone,

Summer is slowly coming to an end and it's the right time to take stock and talk to you about what's next!
Here is a little reminder of this year's events:
  • In June we hosted a new event: the Hameau Nature , and next year we intend to renew this small family festival mixing street art and naturalism during the weekend of May 1st: save the date for next year!
  • There was also the Broc Swing Fest in May, our Swing festival that needs no introduction.
  • Every month (except in August), we have organized film debates and our mobilization was all the stronger in view of the French and international political news of the past months! We will continue to develop these meetings which allow us to question ourselves and consider other possibilities! Unless otherwise stated, the film debates take place every first Wednesday of the month.
  • The 5th participatory project of this year has just ended: on the program, finishing earth coatings and electricity in the Grangette, the new building of the Morimont flower farm. We will launch new sessions for wood cladding, construction of dry toilets and other earth coatings!

For the next few weeks, the life of the association is not left out:
  • The apple trees of Morimont are loaded with fruit: we will press our juice next week to prepare... (attention transition :)
  • the folk festival at Morimont , special edition!!

This year is the 10th edition , so to celebrate, we're having two party weekends !

→ For those who don't know, folk is a set of music of traditional origin or inspiration arranged and revitalized according to various influences. We dance without show or folk costume, alone, in couples or in groups. Folk balls developed in France from the 70s, in the social movement after May 68. The film  Le Grand Bal  by Laetitia Carton made this phenomenon known throughout France in 2018.

Folk au Morimont has become in a few years a reference festival for folk lovers from all over Europe. Come, you will meet people from many different regions and countries!

The festivals are practical applications of the reflections and experiments carried out throughout the year by the association Le Labo M. In addition to music and dance, many activist workshops punctuate the event (permanence and forum theater on domination with the  collective Matières Vivantes  , radio studio with  Radio Quetsch  , reflections on eco-places and discovery of the Hameau du Morimont, etc.). The team of volunteers implements the association's experiments for everyone on the scale of the festival (safe space, fights against domination, zero waste festival, no plastic, exclusively organic meals, washing station, DIY outdoor showers, dry toilets, etc.).

=> For a weekend and on a small scale, we try to live in the world that we would like to see emerge.

For the 10th anniversary, we wanted to allow everyone who wants to participate: the programming of the two editions is almost identical so as not to encourage people to come to both. So, with a double gauge, we are not yet sold out: there are still places left, yay ! Tell people about it, it's an opportunity to [re]discover this festival and come with all your friends!
